Ongoing funding is required to keep the Silk Road Martial Art Friendship Tours going.

Please contact me at the email address above if you can afford to help keep these East – West cultural bridges open!

This project has thus far been funded entirely from my salary as a teacher in South Korea (2001-2009), China (2009-2021), and Thailand (2021-2022). Now however, at the mere age of 67, I am deemed “too old” to be worthy of a work visa. How ridiculous!

I was sparring a martial art master in a public ring in Chiang Mai Thailand just five months ago, and a Malaysian contender August 30th, at the GTF Malaysia President’s Dojang, this year, preparing for ITF Sports Taekwon-Do 1st World Games held September 7th to 10th at the Olympic Park Stadium Complex in Seoul, South Korea. I believe she won a bronze medal. (Silk Road Taekwondo Friendship Tour Pt. 18 – In Beautiful Malaysia – The Rise, Phenomenal Successes and Dream of Malaysia GTF Grandmaster Dato’ Ts. Amir Md. Noor; to be published later this year.)

During my most recent adventures in Malaysia, I managed to visit and interview officials from three Taekwondo federations (WT, ITF and GTF), their national coaches and team members for a series ongoing in Totally Taekwondo magazine.

Unfortunately, the Malaysian IWUF officials were too busy for an interview during the time I was there.

Hopefully next time! 🌞

Please feel free to contact me at the email address above to keep the arts from this side of the planet flowing around the world, before some sadly misinformed individuals blow up the world. Or just donate whatever you can via WeChat or bank transfer.

For those who fear the future, a few words of advice.

The world is not all doom and gloom! Yes, there is global warming but that process has been going on for the past 10,000 years. However it is true Global warming shot up very quickly after the start of the industrial age more than a hundred years ago. It is also true we are in an “Inter-Glacial Period” which means another Ice Age is coming! 😅

It’s also true bad news sells. Yes, there are terrible things going on the world, but there are also positive very good things happening too, particularly along the Silk Roads.

One thing is for sure, better intercultural understanding significantly decreases the probability of bad things happening because we can understand each other better and can find problem solving solutions that are win-win.

Keep your head up!” people!
